Eirik Roen (born 1945)

Eirik Roen (b. 1945) joined DNF-48 in 1962, at just 17 years old. Ten years later, he became the national chair of the organization. From the mid-2000s, Roen became actively involved in Queer World (Skeiv verden), an organization originally founded by individuals from Asia and Latin America. He served as chair from 2009 to 2011, and saw it as a vital mission to support Muslim queer individuals facing resistance from their communities of origin.

In the spring of 2016, Skeivt arkiv met with Roen, who spoke about his work with Queer World and reflected on decades of activism.
