Kari G. Folvik (born 1955)

Lesbians in Daylight" is a cultural initiative founded by Folvik in 2000, which she led until 2007. In recognition of her contributions, Folvik was awarded the Honorary Prize by Skeive Dager in 2010.

In our life history interview, she shares stories from her upbringing in Orkdal and how she eventually found her way to Oslo. There, she also served for a period as the leader of LLH.

An excerpt from the interview is available in the video window below, where Folvik recounts how she came into contact with the group Daytime Dykes in London—an encounter that inspired the creation of Lesbians in Daylight in Oslo.

Lesbians in Daylight is a cultural initiative featuring exhibitions, guided tours, and gallery visits combined with café gatherings. The program is intended to be inclusive, mostly free of charge, or very affordable to attend.

The full interview is available at the Queer Archive, part of the Special Collections at the University Library of Bergen.

The Queer Archive met with Kari G. Folvik in Oslo in October 2017.
