Klaus Bøckman (born 1947)

Bøckman grew up in Oslo but emigrated to the USA to work in 1968. He settled in Miami and worked for many years on international cruise ships, travelling the world. In his interview he talks about the gay culture on these ships, with a very multicultural crew. He was also once fired because of being gay. He returned to Norway in 1998. Today he is an active member of FRI, the Norwegian LGBT+ organisation.

In a clip from our conversation, he talks about the tension and strong security when he visitied Pride in Kiev, Ukraine.
