Ruth Mjøen is the former head of the Lillehammer movie theatre, and was active in the Rogaland Gay Movement in the 1970s when she lived in Stavanger.

In the intervew, Mjøen talks about her childhood in Trondheim. She became politically conscious at an early age, and became active in left wing politics. At the same time, she married a man and in time had two children with him. She moved to Stavanger with her husband for work, and this is where she met Kristin Danielsen, who has been her partner since 1976.

In this excerpt from the interview, Mjøen speaks about the day more than 40 years ago when she and Kristin got together, when they were both participants at a feminist summer camp.

The complete interview is available at Skeivt arkivs reading room. Skeivt arkiv met Ruth Mjøen in Lillehammer, February 2019.
